Translation of Documents
13 July 2026 10:00

The Embassy of Ukraine in Peru can provide a written translation of any document from Ukrainian into Spanish or English, and vice versa. Translation can be performed for documents that bear an apostille as well as for documents without an apostille.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Peru does not provide interpretation (oral translation) services.

If the translation is required for further consular procedures at the Embassy of Ukraine, for example, translation of a child’s birth certificate for the purpose of registering the child as a citizen of Ukraine and applying for a passport, the translation may be carried out on the same day together with other consular services, subject to prior coordination by email: [email protected]

To receive consular services at the Embassy of Ukraine, all official documents issued outside Ukraine must be translated into Ukrainian and certified in accordance with the established legal procedure.

  • If the translation of a document required for consular services at the Embassy of Ukraine has been carried out by the Embassy of Ukraine, additional certification (apostille) of this translation is not required.
  • If the translation of a document required for consular services at the Embassy of Ukraine has been carried out by a private translator, the translation must contain the notarized signature of the translator. The notarized signature of the translator must be apostilled.

Please note that for most procedures, a translation of a document with a prior apostille is required. In such cases, the original document must first be apostilled and only then submitted for translation.

When a translation is performed at the Embassy of Ukraine, a certified copy of the document is first made. The translation is then attached to this copy. Certification of a copy of a document is a separate consular action.

Consular fee for certification of a copy of a document: 10 USD per page

Consular fee for certification of the accuracy of translation: 40 USD per page

The consular fee may be paid using one of the following methods:

  1. By bank card using the payment terminal located at the Embassy premises (applicable bank fees may apply).

  2. Through the banking application (available only to persons who have an account with the Peruvian bank BBVA).

  3. In cash, in U.S. dollars, at a bank branch, upon presentation of the bank payment slip issued during the consular appointment.

HOW THE COST OF TRANSLATION AT THE EMBASSY IS CALCULATED

Example: translation of a birth certificate (1 page).

Step 1. Certification of the copy of the document

Birth certificate (1 page) + apostille (1 page) = 2 pages

2 × 10 USD = 20 USD

Step 2. Certification of the accuracy of the translation

Birth certificate (1 page) + apostille (1 page) = 2 pages

2 × 40 USD = 80 USD

TOTAL: 100 USD (certification of the copy of the birth certificate with apostille + certification of the accuracy of the translation of the birth certificate with apostille)

Applications for document translation are accepted in person only during a consular appointment or at an off-site consular service.

IMPORTANT: If a translation performed at the Embassy of Ukraine in Peru is intended for submission to local authorities in Peru, Colombia, or other countries, it is necessary to complete the procedure of legalization of the consular signature (legalizar la firma consular) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru or Colombia. Legalization of the consular signature serves as a substitute for an apostille on documents issued by the Embassy. When requesting a translation, please indicate to which authorities the document will be submitted so that we can advise whether legalization of the consular signature is required. If the translation will be used in Ukraine, no additional certification is required.
