Dr. Yuriy Polyukhovych assumed the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Peru in December 2022. He is also concurrent Ambassador of Ukraine to Colombia (from 20 June 2023) and Ecuador (from 5 July 2023).

Prior to his diplomatic service, he was Advisor and First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and in 2020 he was Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Dr. Yuriy Polyukhovych is a prominent Ukrainian scientist, historian, public figure, and politician. He is a representative of Ukraine in the European Association of Mayists and author of more than 40 scientific publications, more than 20 academic reports, and participant in numerous conferences, forums and seminars at universities, research centres and museums in Europe, the United States and Latin America.

Spoken languages: Ukrainian, English, Spanish, and Classical Cholti (the hieroglyphic Mayan language).
