Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha: “Russia launched 11 ballistic missiles and 164 drones against Ukraine overnight, killing at least 5 people and injuring around a dozen others. The primary targets were energy infrastructure across multiple regions.
Two of those killed were emergency responders who died in a deliberate secondary strike targeting those who had arrived to assist victims at the scene. Only a terrorist state like Russia employs such inhumane and criminal tactics.
As the world awaits Moscow’s response to Ukraine’s proposal for a ceasefire set to begin at midnight between May 5 and 6, Russia is demonstrating its true face as a terrorist state.
This is why we need the support of all our partners, all states seeking peace, and international organizations to back President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s call for an immediate ceasefire.
A unified and principled position of the entire international community in favor of peace and diplomacy — not war and terror — is essential.”
