In my latest opinion article, published in El Comercio, one of Peru’s leading newspapers, I examine why attacks on museums, universities, architectural landmarks and places of worship are not isolated episodes of war, but part of Russia’s systematic policy aimed at destroying Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
From the attack on the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the destruction of cultural landmarks in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and temporarily occupied Crimea, this is a deliberate attempt to erase Ukraine’s historical memory and cultural heritage.
I invite you to read the article and extend my sincere gratitude to the editorial team of El Comercio for providing the opportunity to share with their readers the truth about Russia’s aggression.
