On October 29, 2025, the Government of Ukraine approved amendments to the decree that, in February 2022, had introduced a temporary procedure for extending the validity of passports and including information about children in them. This decree was adopted on the fifth day of Russia’s full-scale invasion, due to the disruption of Ukraine’s passport system, which made it impossible to issue new documents. Therefore, as an exceptional measure, a temporary procedure was introduced to extend passport validity and to include children’s information.
As of October 29, 2025, the procedure for adding children’s information to their parents’ passports has been canceled. Ukrainian citizens may apply at the Embassy of Ukraine in Peru for a new biometric passport for their children.
