Dr. Yuriy Polyukhovych assumed the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Peru in December 2022. He is also the Ambassador of Ukraine to Colombia (from 20 June 2023) and Ecuador (from 5 July 2023).
Before his diplomatic service, he was Advisor and First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, and in 2020 he was Acting Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Dr. Yuriy Polyukhovych is a well-known Ukrainian scientist, historian, public and political figure. He is a representative of Ukraine in the European Association of Mayists and author of more than 40 scientific publications, and more than 20 academic reports, and a participant in numerous conferences, forums, and seminars at universities, research centers, and museums in Europe, USA, and Latin America.
Fluent in Ukrainian, English, Spanish, and Classical Cholti (the Maya hieroglyphic language).
